Another new addition to the fleet

Picked up what will be my winter car on wednesday. 1991 318is. 264k km's. There are a few problems with it. Mostly minor, and have been fixed now. (burnt out console bulbs, trunk light switch, window switch). I just filled it up with gas, only to find out that the braided overflow line is leaking right on top of the gas tank at the fuel pump. The trailing arm bushings and suspension are shot too. Mtech steering wheel needs a good polishing, or recovering. Other than that, it's got fresh paint, everything works as far as electronics go. Snow tires already on it. Now I have all summer to get it ready for winter.

No, it's my dad's e30 vert... and those fogs didn't come with the car. Did the install with the factor harness, and painted the brake ducts black at his request.

The driver's seat needs some work, Graham. There's a rip in the vinyl, but not in the backing.

So when I picked the car up and drove it around, I heard a "clunk" from the back end. I figured it was the control arm bushings... turns out it's a broken spring. I've put my EOM vert springs on for now. Found that while I was trying to fix the rotten overflow gas line, which it turns out is pretty much imposible to change.

Possibly have a spring kicking around. I might have thrown them out.

Hmm. It looks like the vert springs are making it sit a bit higher. Oh well. Time to drop it.

So, I've had this car for a little over a month now, and I've done a fair amount of work so far:

1). New gas tank
2). New Clutch
3). All new belts
4). Autopal H3 100W yellow highbeams
5). Hella H1 55W low beams
6). New fuel filter and pump
7). Blaupunkt Bremen CD player
8). MB Quart speakers
9). 2x Alpine 12" Type R subs, 2 Alpine amps
10). BMP E34 525i short shift kit
11). Double trunk light install
12). Map light rear view mirror (with factory harness, no splicing!)
13). Fog light switch beside hazzard switch wired to control antenna
14). M-technic I steering wheel cleaned and polished
15). M-technic shifter
16). M-technic seat badges

Still to come:
1). Eibach springs (got a set from Chuck's auto, $100)
2). Shocks... Bilsteins maybe
3). M3 control arm bushings
4). Brakes (cross drilled) all around
5). Rear wheel bearing
6). Some nice track rubbers

It still is supposed to be my winter car... kinda... I want to drive it in the winter... just peel the lip off and rip around in it. Gunna put some snows on the BBS basket weaves, and I've got a new set of rims at home waiting for rubber, centering rings, and spacers. Seeing those cars rip around Cayuga at Bimmercruise made me want to do this

Picked up some Tokico shocks today, new rear mounts and gaskets, Brembo blanks, PBR pads, M3 offset front C.A.B's are still floating around with UPS. My only dilema is if I should put the Stebro exhaust on the coupe, or the vert.
