My new to me wheels, repainted
I got these wheels from 325isStephen.
I was wondering what to do with them. I finally decided to repaint them metallic black.
I did one today to see how it would look like.
I'm pretty happy with the result! Not professional result, but not that bad at all either.
I washed them with acetone to remove the clear and I use 4 layers of paint and 2 layers of clear.
Let me know what you think.

I did some sanding. What you see are metal flakes under the light.

^ As interesting as it is, I believe one of the previous owners of this exact set of rims ran them on track like this. *shrugs*

Not sure why the smaller PCD holes weren't offset more. I think they'd look better with a polished or time attack lip, but I'm sure they look better than they did.

You shouldn't have painted the lip and bolts.
I think you would have been better off taking the wheel apart to paint it..

orange peel.
I'm sure it's a decent 15 foot paint job.
Did you leave the tires on when you stripped the clear off?

did you use paint made for rims???
If your gonna paint rims the duplicolor rim paint usually works best, and wouldn't need clear

either way, he could have at least masked off the lips and bolts.
i'm sure they don't look bad from far, but that pic definitely doesn't do it for me..
