What Tires are you using for the Summer?
Please post what tires you're using for the summer. It may give others everyone an idea of what works or and doesn't, along the way we may help others to save some $. If the tires are crap please indicate it so others don't wind up buying 'em.
************************************************** ********
Since I started the thread, I guess I'll start:
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, I put these on when I first got the car $255 each at 1010 tires. The grip and handling is great but they wear out pretty fast... only lasted from April to October. As I said the grip is great but when they let go they do so without warning. Great tire but I wouldn't buy them again for what they cost and only if I was tracking the car which isn't likely.
Falken ZE512, went for value this time (read blew the tire budget the first time... need cheep tire), paid $132 each at 1010 tires. Actually a good tire but they follow the crown in the road, found that I had to steer against the crown to keep the car straight even after numerous alignments. Wear was fairly good, the shoulders of the tires held up OK but wore out and started to make noise. The tires are good value but not well suited to the E39, the car may be too heavy for them.
Goodyear Ulta Grip snows on the car right now but these Sumo Akina ST-09 all season tires just arrived today from you guessed it... 1010 tire. I can't give an evaluation as they are not mounted yet. I originally was going to purchase General UHP Exclaims but a buddy of mine mentioned that he is running the Sumo Akina ST-07 summer tires and they were working pretty good and I couldn't pass up a buy 3 and get the 4th tire free deal at $125 each. I mean where else can you get four brand new W rated 235-45-17 tires delivered to your door for $457... everything in.

Once i get the M5 back on the road, and the front rims refinished I will be buying a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE760's.
On the 17'' RC's that came with the car has a set of Michelin Pilot Sports on them, I never got to really use them much due to wear on the tread, but they felt like a nice tire, not to loud. but I really dont have much experience otherwise.
Im still debating whether to keep the e39 M5 wheels on the car or put the BBS RC's back on, I'll have to buy tires either way.

Let me know how you like the tires, what car and rims are the tires going on?
When i had my e28 on the road, i had a set of Toyo T1R's and I loved them, i think i paid $210 ( at least 2 years ago ) they were great in the wet too.

When I got my car this is what it had, and still going, on E34 M5 17 offset wheels.
Federal Super Steel 595's. front: 235/45R17
rear : 255/40R17
They look great, they're quiet. Wet weather and handling are excellent and the wear seems pretty good so far.
