Head Gasket

Anyone in the Lethbridge area do a head gasket replacement for a reasonable price. At the present time I don't have a grand to take it to a mechanic.

You can do it yourself in a weekend, its a lot easier than it looks.

No tools or a garage. I have checked it out at Pelican but it looks like it is way over my head!!!

There is got to be a BMW buddy around with some technical knowhow and tools!

And if there is something wrong with that head, just replace it with a used one.
There should be plenty of those around, still.
And make sure to replace the timing belt while your at it, cheap insurance.

That's what sucks here! I had the timing belt done about a year ago.

Regardless of the cold the timing belt shouldn't have broken unless it was installed incorrectly. The tension on the belt is important to set correctly. If too tight you may start to notice whining sound from under the hood. If this is left too long, it will wear out prematurely and eventually break. It's worth to take to a bmw cert. tech to do the work and I think it only cost around 400.00 taxes in with parts. This way it's warranted in case it happens again. if the head goes again, you got yourself a "brand new" bmw head.
