Got my new springs

I call for some pricing on Apex springs today.

I think I got a good deal, so I bought them on the spot.

I got them for 246$, taxes included, delivered to my door 4 hours later (the receptionist of that company lives close to my place )

It's the 1.4" drop.

Do you think it's a good deal?

that's the going price to be honest. I just priced a set myself for my e30 and the guy quoted me over the phone 260.00 taxes in. So it's fair. good deal? Richie sold a used set for a hundred bucks- now that was a good deal. *wink* but since it was delivered in 4 hours to your door. I would call that GREAT service. :-)

Sooooooft springs. Very soft. Did I mention they were soft? You will be on bumpstops all the time, at that height you only have 1.5" of front suspension travel, and 15% stiffer than stock in a progressive isn't going to cut it.

Apex = soft mushy-marshmallow ride. You're probably not bottoming out because you have an m42. I didn't bottom out either when I had em on my 318is but it was still crazy soft.

I'd say they're only for looks and maybe .00001 performance. I'd never track on em.

Thank god Axxe sold me his IE stg3s back in the day to show me the light from cheezy soft suspension

Where are those IE's now? Rudy had them after you, right? I think he sold them, but I don't know who has them. They are sluts haha.

I won't race the car anyway, I just want it to sit lower.
I had Apex on my focus for the past 6 years and I think they are great progressive springs.

when you had the apex springs what sway's were you running??

It seems alot of people put new springs and don't put good sway bars on.

I was looking into stiffer springs but am going with coil overs after I finish the driveline build.

I was running stock sways, Just like I am now with my GC's. IMO I think stiffer sways would be a band aid solution for soft springs like the Apexs.

Once you get a good set of coilovers you will not want to go back

from what i've read...you can change your springs and keep the shocks but you're shortening the life span of the springs.
