PSS10s installed - A little expression of joy :D

Well, after having these coilovers sit in my basement since November 2008, I decided to slap them on the E46. After 3+ hours in my buddy's driveway, I finally have a proper suspension again! Man oh man, what a MASSIVE improvement from my H&R Race + stock shock combo I was riding on before. There was virtually no rebound with my previous setup on worn stock shocks and the car felt horribly underdampened. It felt as if I was just riding on springs. I had PSS9 on my E36 and I truly missed the superb handling of that car. It feels amazing to have some dampening back I'm so happy I decided to install these. The car finally handles like a proper BMW.

I love these coilovers, and they can actually slam the E46 unlike the previous PSS/9 kits for these cars. I can easily tuck plenty of tire in the rear and the front. I thought I left the height at a conservative level, but when I put the car back down and drove on it, I have zero gap up front and tucking a bit of tire in the rear. I still have plenty of room to go lower on the adjusters but this won't be happening.

I was astonished to find that my OEM RSM's were rock solid even after 120k miles. I was ready to put new ones in but the current pair has held out for all those miles and terrible suspension. The stock shocks were also in decent shape and had not totally given out yet (another surprising find). I made a small goof though: I forgot that a lower number indicates more stiffness on the dampening adjustment, so I set the fronts to 6 and rears to 5. Ah well, having this setting gives a bit more neutrality/oversteer as the rear end squatts harder on load when exiting turns. It's actually pretty nice when pushing it hard through the corners lol.

All in all, an afternoon well spent!

1 picture is worth more than the 335 words that you just said.

I have PSS10's on my car and the only way I can tuck my rear wheel is if I remove the rear perch. The front is tucked a little bit though.

KW & H&R coilovers can def. slam it even more, but I'm happy with the ride height I have.

It's a great setup for daily driving and occasional tracking and auto-x I've done so far.

Now put some pictures up already!!!
