2006 Bmw X3 -CONVERSION - metric to imperial - look inside

i got an 06 X3.

i read in the manual and tried. you can change things like C to F (temp)

can i change the MPG to L/100KM or the MILES to KM,

the face gauge and everything is in KM, but the mileage display for some reason reads in MILES.

how can i change it?

was it a US car by any chance? you might have to take it to a shop with a GT1 computer

you can even go to a dealer to see if they'll change it for you for free.

it is a Canadian Vehicle (according to previous history)

I have absolutely no clue why someone would have even changed it to MILES.
There is no way to do it VIA some procedure?
i know a guy that has some crazy UK tool for BMW / MERCEDES that he paid over 40grand for, i assume that may do it .
