Painted Door Panels

I just finshed painting my door panels.

Once you go black you won't turn back. So i painted them using the dupicolor paint. Turned out super nice. I still have to paint the rear speaker cover, front speaker cover on the floor and the headliner.

Hope you guys like.

I've done this too, it looks amazing on the side panels. You just have to make sure to clean them very well first to remove any silicone, otherwise known as armor all.

You're going to do the headliner? Post pics of before and after, I've always wondered about doing that.

i cleaned them the best i could. my mom owns a cleaning bussness and i used what ever this spray on the fabric center peices and scrubed with a brush then used a shopvac to clean it up. on the vinal peices i scrubed and used brake clean. took all that crap off and wiped clean.

they seem to hold up pretty good to abuse, i sprayed the rear seat which is vinal and it doesn't fall off yet.

I will post up pictures of the headliner. I was told that it was super hard to get it out. so i might spray it in the car when i paint the outside of the car.

Anybody know how to get the headliner out easy?

Thanks

Removing the headliner requires the rear window to come out, which is no fun. It's a job that takes many hours and sounds frustrating as hell.

Yeah. If someone wanted to do it, I'd recommend getting a Bentley -- or bring it to a professional.

im prob just going to paint the head liner in the car. the fumes were bad but not that bad. i put the panels and the seats in the same day but it took about 2 days to fully clear up the smell. i didn't leave the windows open at all. just drove with the sunroof down for short trips. i painted them on thursday and they smelt fine by saturday.

im not sure about the carpet tho. it seems pretty easy to come out. im pretty sure you can buy carpet dye, haven't looked into it tho. im going to carpet clean when i recover the seats and panint the car.

Greg post them up. do you have any before pics?

the carpet is all easy till you try and get the 2ft by 2ft part out from under the heater core....most people cut it out around this area. I got a set of molded OEM floor mats in a dark grey, so will wait till I clean the carpet to see how it all looks.
