Anyway, if u wanna drive fast just go up north or, or take it to the track, I dont see why this is such a big deal.
You guys complain that the cops are a$$holes, but if your getting robbed or when you need their help, you would run to them in a second.

I would go insane only driving 10 over. I normally do 20 - 25 over (never pulled over btw) and I still feel like I'm forcing myself to hold back. I'm worst on the 407 though.. doing like 135 in the left lane, in the flow of traffic, and still wanna pass so bad.

Well, lets put it this way....
I've seen more cops at a Tim hortons than on the streets.
I've seen more cops uses their siren lights just because they don't want to wait at a stop light. ( then they shut if off right after the lights)
We have to wait for cops if we need help but cops will pop out of no where if we're speeding.
We seldom see drug busts but we can definately see people got pulled over for various reason daily.
I've seen cops running around at night when people are trying to have meets but on the other hand I think drink and drive kills more than illegal racing.....
my point is : stop picking on innocent people who probably speed 10 or 20 over the limit for like 1-5 min and do some police work for Allah's sake!!!!

Hey, the way I see it is that cops stop people from breaking the law. And hey guess what??? Speeding IS breaking the law. How would you like it if some moron going 150 plowed into your parents' car and f*cked them and splattered their brains all over the street?? Would you like that? Or what if they took you out and mangled your body into a pretzel so you cant walk for the rest of your life? There is a big difference between driving 150 and 100........
If you dont break the law, you dont have a problem with cops. Some do actually use their power to harass you, but I do think its a far thing from different countries where the cops actually physically mess people up for no reason. The way I see it is we actually have it pretty good.

Ok you are now officially cut off from crazy upside down pictures.
I do not hate, bash, and mouth off to cops. I due respect the few that take pride in thier job and are flexable with the minor speeders and what not. But I think that thier priorities could be adjusted. More towards major crimes like...murders and drinking and driving (including excessive speeding...140km/h+ to make you happy). If they would concentrate less on speeding, improper muffler, and loitering (car meets) but not totaly ignore those too.
And the comment about cops and doughnut shops...so true! Who pays thier saleries? Tax payers. I think that if you are on duty you should be packing your own healthy lunch like everyone else instead of LOITERING at a doughnut shop.
Interesting article

two things to say...
#1 we aren't arguing about people going 50 over.. cops say they wanna crack down on EVERYBODY over 100km/h.. so that means a ticket for going 5kms/h over.. not 50kms/h!!
#2 your point about cops not physically messing people up.. read the news.. it happens here! its just better hidden behind the "blue wall of silence"<--actual media coined term created to describe officers unwritten code of never ratting on each other.
One recent case thats been in the media lately is that bum that 4 officers kicked the shit out of and dumped in the middle of no where.
..think about it, who polices the police? and I wonder what happens when a cop gets pulled over doing 110Kms/h...

Ok, I have always heard of crackdowns like this one throughout the years that I have been driving. I have never been stopped by a cop for any reason, ever in my 5 + years of driving. Maybe Im lucky, but I dont think that you will get harassed for doing nothing. Boo, hoo, so a cop yells at you and is giving you attitude, I dont think that is a good reason to hate them. They do things like that on purpose, because you would be surprised what some would learn about a civilian who looses their cool.....
Busting someone for going 5km/h over the speed limit is dumb, no one is arguing that. I find it hard to believe that they will actually bust someone for doing that. But I guess we will have to wait and see.....

Ok everyone! Have nothing to do? Go to your local police station (ie: Tim Hortons) and take some pics!

How many ricers get pulled over for aftermarket exhausts? Even if that is their ONLY crime, the law doesn't dictate an actual decibal level that is considered "too loud". How can you commit a crime that is undefined?

Why SHOULDN'T we hate someone who gives us undeserved attitude? should we just roll over and thank them for giving us those wonderful tickets for 5Kms/h over (I ACTUALLY got that!)

Combining both Mkgino and Miguel's response I've got a conclusion....
Maybe the cop can't hear 'em over the exhaust noise!

Mkgino.......read what I typed before respond.......I said they're over the speed limit for like 1-5 mins not 150 constant. There is a difference between passing the car infront of you and going nuts on the highway! We do the "going nuts" thingie on race tracks...
Besides.....I still think driving under the influence of alcohol is much dangerous than speeding 10-20 km over speed limit!
And........couple of my friends got ticketed for going 5km/h over speed limit couple years ago, so it is possible to get a ticket.

I did read what you typed, and going that fast isnt bad, but it is breaking the law. Heck, I dont know why we are arguing over this, going 1km/h is breaking the law. Technically a cop can pull you over for that and give you a ticket if they want to. Its not the cops fault YOU broke the law. If you dont break the law, you will most likely be left alone.
I agree getting a ticket of 5km/h is dumb because it doesnt add to any particular danger, but it has to start somewhere. If cops dont ticket at 5 then people will drive at 10, if they dont ticket at 10, people will drive at 15 and so on......

I think 90% of the people on the road break the law, I understand if they want to slow down guys that's driving at insane speed, but come on......100km/h zero tolorence? Don't you think that's waaaaay too tough? Even trucks on highways do more than that! And try talk about how to hwys are congested these days, they'll make it even worst!
I agree they have to start on ticketing people over certain speed but should have go a bit higher like 20 over or sumthing, for example, if I I want to pass that damn truck right next to me wut should I do? slow down and slow everyone down too? Wut if I've stepped on my gas for 1 sec longer while merging with traffic? They're doing this because they want to be a prick and that's my personal opinion!
