E30 M3 vs Honda S2000

BMW is 340bhp and Honda is 260bhp.
This proves how good the e30 M3 was. Still kicking ass 25 years later!!!!!

I think you mean the M3 was 240hp not 340... At least in the video it says 240ps.

Either way good video.

the S2000 driver sucked compared to the M3 driver, but an interesting comparison. I've always thought these two cars a pretty similar.

E30 M3 came in 195 hp, 215 hp, 238 hp.
The s2000 is only a 2 seater . much lighter. M3 has better downforce for corners.

I don't claim to be an expert driver. So please enlighten me, what could the S2000 driver have done better?

anyone noticed how much more the s2000's driver had to swing his heel over to blip the throttle while down shifting while the m3's driver only had to slightly move his foot over.

^^ Could be just the way the pedals are positioned. Depends on what car I guess. Ever drive an older Porsche 911? Daayyum, thats some weird pedal positioning... hard to heel toe in that I found.

If anything in that vid, the Hondas tires sucked. Maybe thats why he was 'pitching' it into corners, sliding out at exits, etc. But then again, most street tires get greasy on track in not much time. Ugggh, now I'm starting to over-analyze it lol

the s2000 was getting thrown around way too much... while fun, this is not the fastest approach... I got the impression he was spending a lot more time correcting small mistakes.

if he has shitty tires then it's even more critical since you don't want to overheat them because you'll just lose traction faster...

It could be because of difference in size of feet

They both had the same type of tires.
S2000 looked to me to be a pig for understeer, forcing the driver to use the breaks more then the M3 guy to get the front to turn were it was supposed to go, few times went a little overboard and got some oversteer, car seemed to have a bad balance most likly due to the staggered tire size the S2000 had on.
Thinking the driver of the S2000 would have been just as smooth as the M3 had he had the same tires front and back, and possibly win with the extra power.

I don't know about that... anybody who's good enough to be driving in a video should do better than that...

I've tracked an S2000 at dunnville and they're not that unbalanced or understeer prone.
