BMW / MINI COOPER iPOD MP3 adapter with Aux Input

Hiya,

i have this usa-spec ipod adapter... worked very well with my 2nd gen ipod nano and ipod photo. I had it in my 530i. I think it works with all bmws that were prewired for cd changer.

works great and selling because i bought a different unit for my car.

More info here.

$100 dollars or best offer. It takes less than 5 minutes to install.

It supports ipod and also another aux input if you don't have ipod.

thanx

I think so... the best way would be to see if you have a cd changer connector in the trunk.

from crutchfield it says:

"USA SPEC iPodŽ Interface
Connects your iPod to the factory radio in your 1996-up BMW/2002-up Mini Cooper"

Well I have a cd changer so I'm sure the connector is there but on crutchfield it doesn't say it's compat with my car. Just wondered if you knew more like if there was a list with the adapter.

It says 1996+ on crutchfield for bmw cars.

Either way check to see the connectors and i can take pics of the connectors thats probably the best way to confirm... if you don't know which connectors see this video.

p.s i see what you mean when you select your car it says does not work. I tried yours it said does not work and then i tried mine and it said does not work. I am assuming their compatibility is messed up as i had it working in my car for a while.

I have an e39 540 with the dsp / cd changer in the back ... would this plug and play ? is the install hard ? Also how is the sound quality I had purchased a while back a Harmon Karmon IPOD unit that worked with the FM transmitter ... It was horrid .. im looking for something with some cd quality sound

Also would you have full controls from the steering wheel for changing tracks e tc

- this would be a lot better than fm transmitter as it uses the cd changer line in and the unit sends the signal pass through.

- you do have steering controls.. though must be noted you don't have capacity to search by artist or album and has no text display... for that kind of functionality you need intravee or dice.

- I don't think this would work with DSP audio but im not certain. I am about 75% certain it wont work with dsp systems dsp systems are digital and need different kind of unit and harness to do ipod on those. if you car is a late 2002 or 2003 you can get aux adapter for it, otherwise you need dsp adapters that would run you about 200-250 usd.

I am in toronto if you want we can try it out? See the video that i posted above to see if you have same connectors if you do then it should work but i can pop it in for you probably takes < 5 mins to put it in.

$100 is pretty good for this - I just bought a new one for my Acura (USA Spec too) and got a deal on it at $149.

Well worth the money considering I can control it from my car now.

There is a new version for DSP.

http://matrixtrading.ca/product_info...oducts_id=1657

Matrix Trading is the CDN distibutor for USA Spec - One of their resellers gave me a much better price than the Matrix site, so if you want to buy one with DSP, I can forward you the resellers info in Oakville.

He's learned that he can charge more and is no better than anyone else anymore...

Best thing is to call Matrix Trading and they will give you 2-3 local resellers to you...
