E60 530 Test Drive opinion

Got a chance to test drive an 04 530i because I was in the market for one and I was astonished with all the cheap plastic, recycled materials used all over the interior. Everything was prone to unusual wear and tear. All these new BMWs look and drive like garbage therefore I will stick to E38 and E39 cars FTW

I just sold a 97 540i with 370k and the interior looked brand new!

Who else feels this way about these cars? Is it just me or the quality has really gone down the drain?

It has. My wife who is not into cars even noticed it as we were looking to replace her E39 a few years back. Ended up getting a newer E39 instead.

The e60, unless it is a top range M Sport or M5, really is a disappointment.

I have a 97 E36 convertible which weighs 1955KG (w/o hardtop) compared to 2065KG E60. Explains a lot when it comes to cheap interior panels. Also the doors/hood/trunk feels a lot more sold on the E36!

the f10s are a whole new ball game... improvement over the e39 . So perhaps wait a bit and get a used f10.

a lot of the weight savings is due to extensive use of aluminum for the front end and the body panels.

F10 looks like the Toyota Camry competitor, sad to see where these cars have really ended up. Audi and Mercedes still has the classy looks and much better interiors.
I am leaning more towards the E66 or S550 now
