Airbag light

Hey guys,

Just a few days ago my airbag light came on. I didn't really do anything that I think would warrant it so I'm not really sure what may be wrong. What causes the light to come on? It did get warm and then really cold again last week so maybe something froze and is not responding anymore. I'm not really sure. Is there any way to check what the problem may be myself or should I just take it in to a shop?

And yes, if your wondering, I am the guy that posted a little while ago about the car not starting... This thing is falling apart on me! lol

It can have something to do with your seats. Check for loose connectors and shit like that under your drivers seat but I think you'll need a scan tool to reset the light (not 100% on that though)

Ok, that may be something to do with it. I moved my seat around before I noticed that it turned on. We had a car full of tall university students going to the rippers so maybe someone kicked something or knocked something loose. Damn drunks! lol

Does anyone know if I need a scan tool to turn it off or will it go off if I'm able to fix it?

You need the scan tool. The scan tool will also tell you what is making it go off. (i'll bet you 5$ its the passenger seatbelt sensor.)

There is a sensor on the passenger seat belt?! lol

I wouldnt be surprised if it is that since my friend who had shotty was yanking away on the damn belt because the thing locks so easily. Damn those drunks! lol
