F01 BMW Alpina 7

The 2009 BMW Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo will join the B6 GT3 race car on the stand in Geneva, and thanks to AutoZeitung, we've got a singular photo and some preliminary specs on the uber-sedan from Alpina.

The B7 Bi-Turbo is essentially the M7 BMW forgot to build, packing a twin-turbocharged, 4.4-liter V8 putting out 507 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Alpina claims the B7 can run to 60 in 4.7 seconds and on to an electronically-limited 173 mph. We'll have more details from the Geneva Motor Show next week, but expect a host of upgrades to join the engine mods, including uprated brakes, suspension components and a reworked interior to compliment the B7's new body kit.

That is definitely a head turner, I think the f01 alpina looks much better than the previous generation 7 alpina. (mind you it's not completely redesigned, but there's a little something extra)

The horsepower war is essentially dead. Fuel efficiency, evidenced by BMW turning to turbos, is where its at. 500hp and the exclusivity this car gives you are enough for buyers looking in that price range.

Any one that is going to be buying a 7 series with a big honkin V8, i dont think is too concerned about fuel ecconomy? Ask yourself the same question..would you be worried about ohh how much fuel am I going to go through if your in the market for a BIG luxury sedan with a massive engine? Probably not. So I say again in the market they are attacking high paid executives, drug dealers etc fuel ecconomy would not be the top of my list because if i could afford that car car i could afford the gas. get me?

Need an example? Look at Benz I dont think they got the memo on fuel economy yet, because i think they know if some one is going to be buying a S65 or S63 chances are they can afford the gas and could careless about the mpg.
