Question PDC Retrofit Kit ???

Any one here have any feedback on the "Park Distance Control" retrofit kit for E39 cars, that did not come this way factory optioned.
I'm thinking of doing the mod, as I'm still not used to the length of the 5er.
Every time I back up, I get all paranoid about scratching up my beauty.
So I end up looking like a driver in training, running out to check how far I've backed up my car, though I still have miles of space to go.
Don't have these issues with my E36.

I wouldn't mind finding out about this mod as well. Anyone?

Ordered the kit yesterday.
I'll know by Monday, when it will arrive from the "Vaterland".
Should be at least 10 days, until I find out more, unless someone comes to the rescue.

DINAN3, if you have already bought the new M-bumper without PDC then you'd need to drill holes for those sensors ... I think the labour will probably cost more than the kit itself (depending on where you sourced it).

Good luck.

Good luck.
Planning on ordering the rear PDC bumper (Insurance is paying).
The kit cost me a G-note (Incl. tax).....in the States they go for C$650...but for some reason the US dealers can't get them any more.
Maranello quoted me $450 for installation, which I thought was very reasonable.
Once the kit arrives, I'll have to bring the sensors to the body shop 1st, so they get painted, along with the bumper.
After European Autobody finishes their work, the car goes to Maranello to complete the PDC retrofit.

Red face Heads up.....M-tech Exhaust...rumble...burble...rumble...

My original M-Tech exhaust (Single fat chrome pipe) will be for sale in the upcoming weeks.
It's BMW part# 18101407970 and retails new for +/-$1000.
I'm thinking of letting it go for $300.
It's in excellent condition (ONLY 50K on the odometer) and IMO the best looking exhaust for E39.
I prefer it even to the M5 quad exhaust.

Judge for yourselves ~~> http://www.kenrockwell.com/bmw/images/CIMG4715-big.jpg

Figured I give you guys an early shot at it.
Anyone is welcome to come by and listen to it, while it's still on the car this week.

Does that $450 install charge include the drill out and placement of the PDC button in the center console by the cup holders?

^ PDC Button

The PDC button is for toggling the entire PDC system on and off.
However, I believe, it is only functional when front PDC is installed.
Facelifted E39's can only be retrofitted w/ rear PDC, which is all I really need.

Unhappy Update...

The dealer informed me that though the PDC kit is still listed, it is no longer available.
I called the factory works dealer in Munich and they confirmed that they have no available info, wether this PDC Kit will be re-stocked.
Figured I'll post this info, to save the next guy the hassle.
