Cabrio sway bar question

Hey all,

Just looking for opinions... my cabrio needs new sway bar links + bushings, and I am just wondering whether I really need to get the cabrio-specific 21mm mounting bushings or whether I can squeeze the standard E30 20mm ones on there.

Seems to me that 1mm isn't going to make a huge difference on a rubber bushing - and the 20mm ones are way easier to find and cost 1/3 as much.

Thoughts?

Shouldn't make a difference I would say. If it fits it fits, correct me if I'm wrong.

Whenever I see people retrofitting the 21mm onto a 325is they seem to use the cabrio bushings. That would suggest that they're necessary. There are some dudes on e30tech right now selling 21mm bars in the parts for sale section; maybe ask them since I think a few of them have both the 20 and 21mm for sale.

Update for anyone who was wondering: Yes, it is possible to use the 20mm bushings for the cabrio sway bar - but I don't recommend it. I had to modify them to make them fit.
