Consider this...
When buying a NEW car one should like its looks at time of purchase and not HOPE to adapt to it styling or looks at a later date.
Although BMW sold alot of cars under the term of Bangle's 'artistic' direction, personally I don't believe them to be of the same calibre as the many 'special' cars that it had produced in past years. They just seem to blend into the landscape of high-end Japanese cars.

I think he is being credited with bangle butt because he designed Z9 concept, but then again I couldn't find any proof that he did and it looks really close to E63. I think I'm going to email BMW to find out..
Now on those so called "Bangle" cars. Everybody loves to hate them, but look at the current S class, look at the trunk, look at the interior, look at the iDrive-like system. To me it sounds like Bangle knew what he was doing.

I do find it strange that some of Bangle's design features were so highly criticized, yet seemed to be copied by so many other manufacturers. What's up with that?

I *believe* that Bangle was in charge of the e46 design.

Bangle was good actually on his own. He designed the E46, and that was a really nice looking car, very clean imo.
Then he teamed up with that moron van Hooyndoink, and he came up with the 5, the 7, the 6, etc... basically killing the entire line. van Hooyndoink is not good at all.
