This is great.

Yes that is a shackle attached to my rafters with my buddies jeep with a 6.5 inch lift, lifting it out with his winch.

Worked like a champ.

Just curious to know the mileage when you got it? Sorry to hear about the motor.

I see. When you got it , have you had a chance to check the coolant to see if it had oil in it? Was it clean? I have to say close to 400k is so so from 4 cyl bimmer. Not bad.

I pulled the head, the gasket was fine. And there was no oil in the coolent.

It's weird, there is no damage to the pistons or cylinder walls, actually there was still cross hatching. But the cam gears were noticeable off by 2 teeth or so. I might tear the block down and check the rings. I really want to know what happened to the engine. The spark plug threads are thrashed.

Very true about finding out what went wrong. I asked for the oil in the coolant because some of them were overheated during someone's owenrship that caused internal damage. Looks as that was not the case. I looked at my coolant as well and it is very clean. My car still pulls strong thou. Nock on the wood.

Apparently Oilpans are expensive and so are M5 mounts.

So

Anyone know if these work?

Why you gotta be like that.

People use E28 M5 mounts if they don't want to shim them right?

I need E28 533i mounts, so i'm assuming the IE ones will work, or I could just get factory ones.
