keys locked in 95 325is
well, it's not even a good story...
it was freezing two nights ago, car wouldnt start so I get out shut the door, pop the hood (can you tell I haven't had the car long?lol) so then I realise its the trunk that needs poppin.Well, I dont know if anyone else has experienced phantom locks, but sometimes when I go over a heavy bump, my doors will lock themselves. Turns out shutting the hood was just enough force to get the phantom locks going, cause as the trunk shuts I hear the doors lock.... with my key in the ignition but off.
Car wasn't running so its not a big deal, just a minor inconvienence but I called a tow truck company out and they didn;t have any luck with a slim jim after about half an hour. Now does this guy have absolutely zero slim jim skills or is my car just not going to open with one? If thats the case, anyone got a spare window for a 2 door e36?

It may be cheaper to just go to bmw and get a new key made. See if they can rush one to you - it would be good to have a spare anyways for times like these. Hopefully the car is parked in a secure location.
Try an automotive locksmith too, see what they charge to get in.
Good luck!

PM me for your sidewinder (laser cut) key blank and cutting needs. Have OEM pre-ews keys and replacement shells.

yea it's in the garage or I'd be a little paranoid, I'm gonna give the dealer a car and see what they say.
Wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't lose my other key snowboarding...
cheers

good luck! You should be able to get some keys in two or three days. You are supposed to bring your ownership to prove you own the car. If it is locked in the car, find some insurance information and if you have it, some sort of bill of sale or something to prove you are the rightful owner of the car.
If you decide you want some more spares afterwards, let me know, I can cut BMW keys

if your gonna go to the dealer you maybe looking at 100-150 in cost.
Kicking the window will prolly just cost you 40 bucks for a replacement window from eurostyle. And you can put it in within 10-15mins.

if your double lock wasnt engaged when the doors locked then the tow truck guy should have been able to pull up the lock knob or if he can even pull the door handle from the inside the door unlocks. I got a spare key from bmw for $160, but it is very handy

you guys are nuts, a e36 key from bmw costs 56.50$ (i have 3, yes, i'm sure that's what they cost).
I wouldn't smash any windows, if anything, drill a small hole in your trunk, and pull the unlock lever above the liscence plate lights.

It MAY be cheaper to do the window thing but then you only have one key but can't really drive the car anyways in this weather before it's fixed. Just my $0.02, it is always handy to have a second key.

And figure out why your doors lock on their own!
