e30 M3 with volvo engine?!

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/B...0HP_206359.htm

Tons of power! Kind of hard to hold it through the corners.

everyone in europe has a dream to build a high hp car so they can go to the track and do burn-outs and drift lol. I don't mind it at all, just that every once in a while I'd like to actually see a video of them doing some grip lapping like this

LOTUS ELISE TURBO TIMEATTACK 450HP

or like that vid of roger clarks 850hp subby that most of you have probably seen.

he blew the tire at the end of the movie, you can see the sparks from the rim grinding the pavement.

In my opinion it's sort of pointless, you don't need that much power to have fun drifting or grip racing.

You do realize that that video and Roger Clark is in Europe right?

Its just that grip lapping is quite old here and most folks are reasonably older to bother posting vids.
Plus its more of a cool thing when you have a big power car that in some way is different!

If you like grip racing do a search on youtube for hillclimbing.
Grip racing or time attacks are relatively new in your side of the world (i mean in the Americas) compared to Europe so its more hypped up there right now. But there is more the double the amount of any drift or tyre burning competition when it comes to grip racing in europe.

Besides its always fun to see someone trying to drift a big bhp car with huge turbo on it.
Its not as easy as some of these guys make it look.

Apart from the fact that in some places in europe we are so good at gripping we even drive on water and grip where there is no grip:

lol

That's why I said "a video of them doing some grip lapping like this" not "a video of them doing some grip lapping like we do over hear in America"

I have seen the hillclimbing and it's wicked ... F3000 hillclimb

...to be honest when I saw that you commented on this thread I was expecting to see you say that that's your buddy's car and he lives down the street from you You know a lot of guys with a lot of cool cars, or at least you make it seem that way.

Well i did live in England and most of my friends there studied Motosport and now work for companies like HKS Europe
, Williams, Sumo Power.
Plus i went to alot of the motorsport venues.
I ve met most of the major tuners like Roger Clark and Simon Norris and lots of others.
In the video you posted there are two people i know. One is the RC Development Evo 6 (12sec in the clip) and the other is the Black Auto Ergonomics Evo 8 (23sec in the clip).
I dont say it to show off or nothing. To me it is a priviledge to have met and talked with some of these guys. And some of them are so good at what they do that folks like me couldnt even dream of being as good.
On top of that i have met some Big names in motorsport. I used to be involved in many ways with the Rally Acropolis in Greece few years back. So i got to meet real legends like Colin McRae, Ari Vatanen and allot of others. I even had a drink with Nikki Lauda once while i was still in the UK and he is my second biggest idol after Senna.
So i guess i ve been pretty lucky.
Just dont think i am saying that i know this people simply to show off! Both drivers and engineers when it comes to any form of motorsport are people i thoroughly seek to meet and talk to simply out of admiration.
And more or less i have always been in and around people who work and co-operate with this people in some way.

im surprised no one has jumped on this but..... thats not an M3!

Although its always nice to make stupid power, after a certain point i do find it useless. a buddy of mine had a 500hp gti 1.8t which he ended up selling because lack of traction, so he bought an a4 and did the same set up on it. But I guess for drifting purposes why not?

Most of the guys on these vids actually own the tuning house that did all the work(i said most, not all).
So the more power they can extract from a particular engine the more popular they become. Look at Dahlback or HKS, Top Secret etc.....
I agree with you as i dont think big bhp means perfect car. Everything is a matter of balance. Whether its drift, grip or drag.
Saying that i know people running 1000bhp Supras as an example and they run them on standard brakes and suspension( except its lowered).
I dont admire these people but all they want is a straight line and some Divine help to survive any unexpected issues on their every traffic light run.
I prefer doing first my suspension/chassis mods, then brakes, then make sure all is running perfect before i increase power. But as you may know most people dont think like this.

In my view that is one of the best track cars ever. Saying that he also has some crazy quadbike that has insane power and some other mentally powered cars too. That goes to show what i was trying to explain earlier about showcasing their techniques and methods by building insanely powered cars that are almost impossible to track and appear only good for shreding tyres.
Here is another insanely powerfull car that although seems to be useless it has some awesome custom work and engineering in it.

Just have a listen to it here:

Here is another presentation:
