heat on driver side but cold air on passenger side..

Hi folks, picked up an E36 (97 328is) up a few weeks ago.Been around for a while but was looking for the right deal. Ended up with more than what I could've asked for. But that's for later.

Right now the trouble is with the heat. I seem to be getting warm air through the driver side vents but cold air through the passenger side. I searched around on Bimmerforums and from what I gather the heater core valve needs replacing.

Before starting off trying to fix it, I just want to make sure it is just that. If you click the link you'll see everybody chiming in but not confirming it is just that.I'm hoping someone here has gone through a similar problem. Hence the question.

Any suggestions/input welcome.

I had the reverse problem this past fall in my 96, cold on drivers and warm on passenger side. I was just about to replace the heater valve but tried cleaning out the cooling system first and replaced the coolant and made sure it was bled properly and now both sides will boil you out of your seat.

yea if your car had some kind of stop leak in it it migth block some of your heater tap/ heater core so try flushing out you heatertap/ heater core / your whole car and bleed it and run it
