BMW 2002 Alpina Turbo Replica 1974.

It all started a couple of years ago. With kids and work offshore the time hasn't really been there but the car is ' nearly' finished .."I just have to change that ... and do this!".. Well.. you get the picture huh? =)

I have 3 engines and this one is built to output about 210hp (without turbo).

The fuel system looks better with some paint on!

Looks like a twister has passed in the garage.. no it was only me doing some violent upgrades ;-)

Inlet manifold with individual throttle bodies. I'm not going to use this though.

The latest picture. There is an extreme turbo engine under construction but for 2009 I will most likely use the naturally aspirated M10 engine.

I will update with all the specs later.

lol, I just saw this project in another website that was linked from 2002faq the other day. The only thing that looks odd is the Intake Trumpets sticking out of the hood, but looks like a good project otherwise. Good luck!

Hi,

The reason for the runners to stick out from the hood is that the channels in the cylinder head is raised. It has brass molded into the channel to make a perfect straight run for the air.

I agree that it looks odd though and with the m10 turbo engine it will be a different story and look

Thanks' for the comments!

/Michael, Sweden. Happy New Year!

I've bought another BMW!

1.1 bar boost is enough to make it move fast

The condition is amazing! No rust what so ever!

A hundred bucks followed by 3 more zeroes wouldn't be enough This car was owned by a friend of mine and he was pedantic (spelling?) and had it for about 10 years driving approx. 1000mil (=10 000km).

It's around 380 hp output from the engine and 550Nm++ torque
I will remove the Motronic box an replace it with a modern ECU.

Of course I will keep the Motronic box and save all original parts. I don't like the idea of having a ECU that's isn't "intelligent" and I like the idea of having more contol over the engine.

I also found that the turbo is changed to the B7S one =) .. and that the cylinder head is the later 745i Turbo head that have better cooling channels.

Sorry for not selling it but this car is amazing! Small wook R cars that starts to mess with me seems to be standing still when I put the pedal to the floor and leave them behind ;-).

0-100km/h (0-62 mph) has been recorded by a Swedish car magazine to ~4.8s. Mine has more hp than that car had though. Remember this is a car from 1984. I'm in love
