Shouldnt the question be more like "how do i find out what is wrong with my car"?...If you just dont like the light, and dont care what is wrong, take the bulb out, and no more problems! If you want to do it right, take it to a shop that can see what caused it in the first place!

find out what the problem is first
lol
get a code scan done from someone with the reader
if you dont have
you can take it to parts source and get them to scan the code
and find out whats wrong
and then you can go from there

Any mechanic should be able to scan for the problem code... go from there. And don't drive around for a week before you go.... get it done immediately, don't drive the car.
Don't just yank the bulb. And have your sarcasm detector fixed.

Well, first of all your battery cant just die from unpluging it! It would clear the codes, thats about all...But it will come back again if the problem is still there...

simple, any reader obd2 reader can read it. it will give you code or area wrong.
could be simple as you did not click the gas cap.
the reader can reset the check engine too.
