Another good thread by the Bear.
- cash for the car fund
- cash for the basement fund
- cash for the car fund
Whenever I ask for car stuff, I get, "What exactly do you want?" To which, I answer "42lb flow matched injectors. I found some on ebay that are great, and the seller will ship to Canada.. You just have to specify that.." to which I get interupted with, "Maybe you should buy that yourself and we'll get you something easier to find."
Problem is: I have everything. I already have too many toys, and even more tools.
Oddly, I went looking for 12 point sockets tonight and couldn't find them at Home Depot (open late). I'll try the princess auto tomorrow if I have time.

This is the one I want.. TOTALLY reasonable price too. I was reading up on jeepkings.ca that a lot of guys got some in a group buy and love it. I imagine you need to buy an addon kit for the TIG, but still.. $725!!! 110 OR 220.. crazy.

Well... from that link you got a peice of crap that can do everything, but good at none of it.
Stay away from that all in one units for elect welding/cutting, they never come close to doing what their advertised to be capable of.
They just suck at both unless buliding custom tin boxes, put it under something that matters (say a cage) and they fail misurably.
Got a Hypotherm 600 plasma cutter, paid around 1500 for it and it actualy cut's more then the advertised spec's unlike the multi units, I actualy cut through a 5/8's solid U-joint in seconds, can now cut up to an inch but not so clean after when going that deep.
So Jay... Pic up a good 240V Tig and you have all the use you want out of my cutter, previded I get use of that Tig as well .

Wish list? Damn. I'm at a crossroads. I hate driving the beater and may end up getting rid of both and either getting an E39 or an E46 touring next summer. Or I'll just sell the beater, keep the E36, fix it and drive it until it's not worth fixing/keeping and then switch to either of the above.
At least I managed to get storage for the E36 this winter. It was heart wrenching to see it parked in the garage and not being able to drive the hell out of it!

I put my yellowed set of bottlecaps on my e30 so it makes it less desirable to drive, so I won't take it out in the salt.
As it turned out, the yellow, from uncleaned brake dust, doesn't really come off after a few years in storage. Doh. Only two were bad, so I put them on one side and it looks like I'm rocking the custom 12 spoke gold wheels from the 80's. Too bad, cause they used to look awesome:
^^ I MISS THAT CAR

Wish list:
Indestructible power steering pump mounts
Window Tint
That's it. Seriously though, I'm with Jay. I've got everything I need, enough toys and tools. For now I've just gotta wait for the right house to come along. So I'll probably just ask for donations to the SPCA or Ottawa humane society.
