When 9-11 occurred and all planes were forced to land in N.America, they showed a pic and not one plane in the sky - it was the best time to observe atmospheric pics without interference.

air travel is one hell of an impressive infrastructure. all those independent moving parts working together and so few crashes.

I always had this theory that all those planes make a big diffrence in terms of climate/weather among other factors.

that video is kinda old, there's even more air routes now, I got back from HK/China last month, we took a new route, it took us over the Arctic & Russia to get to HK, we took it direct from Pearson airport, so now more planes are flying over those areas as well.
