Will do - I won't get a chance to look at it in detail until next weekend... but on my first inspection it looked like I could probably weld it.

How much would your exhaust be if I wanted it?

Well, I figured I'd update this... I had the car in for a safety a month or so ago and it needed:

- front control arm bushings
- tie rods
- p/s pressure hose
- front sway bar links & bushings
- trailing arm bushings

So I decided to do a few other things while I was in there working on stuff... bought some M3 springs from tominizer (good guy to deal with) and put those in, and also replaced:

- transmission mounts
- transmission output seal
- all 3 diff seals
- rear sway bar links

Had a look at the subframe bushings and they looked okay, so I left them. The springs ended up lowering it a bit more than I expected - particularly in the front - but I think I am liking the stance.

Anyway, the car is heading back in to the shop to get re-checked for the safety, have an alignment, and get e-tested. Hopefully will be insured and driveable tonight or tomorrow!

Let me know what you all think!

Cheers,
-Paul

Yeah, I'm pretty pumped about the stance! Just a little worried that it's going to be too low to really be practical... there's only about 4" of clearance under the oil pan :x

I was concerned about mine too, but I've never had a problem. I may invest in a skid plate at some point though.

Yeah, I was looking at the ones the guy on a few other forums was selling (http://www.raceskids.com) and I think I can probably fab up a similar one (without the fancy speedholes) for less money... I have some steel plate lying around leftover from my Jeep... might be too thick though.

Yeah, the hardtop was a big part of the reason I bought it - they seem to be worth at least $500, and I only paid 2k for the car (though will probably have about 3.5-4k in it by the time I'm happy with it).

Plus, it makes the car driveable in winter (if I'm desperate) and much nicer on the highway.

4 inchs? That's 5 inches too much.

M3 springs did wonders man. Great looking car.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I'm pretty pumped about it.

everlast: saw your post - would love to come by, but I'm leaving Friday afternoon to head down to Waterloo for the weekend. I'll try and make it out next time I'm in Ottawa and there's something going on!
