how to wash car in winter?

This seems like a stupid question, but how the hell am i supposed to wash my car in winter?

I'm in ottawa, where there's tons of snow, and obviously before i went to pick up my wife, had to hit the touchless. Now my door locks are frozen, passenger door wont open, driver side door will only latch halfway.

I put a bunch of lithium grease on the driver side door, gonna go buy some lock de-icer.

My question is, how do i prevent this from happening in the first place? Or can i just not wash my car?

get keyless on the e30! its easy as hell to do.. I paid $27 for my unit and had it installed in under 30 mins.. it will help against frozen locks... but if its super iced it wont open it. haha

just don't wash the car, its easier that way, or make sure you drive for awhile with the heat on to make sure the water evaporates

Yeah wipe it down good, and if you have some shopping or something to do park inside so that it dries after you have washed it.

if your locks freeze and u dont have keyless, etc, the best way to deice it is to get a syringe (nothing to fancy, like the ones u use to reink your ink cartages), and some rubbing alchohol and inject into the lock. Wait a few and hopefull it works.

wash it at a friend's appartment's underground parking garage. downside is that chances of scratching the car from its own dirt is HUGE

smear some vaseline on the rubber door seals... it wont help with the locks, but it'll help keep the doors from freezing up...
