e30 problem...need help!!!

so yesterday, i tried opening my door from the passenger side since i was never able to open it from the driver side (bought the car like that) and guess what, i couldnt turn the key.

i cannot open it from the driver and or passenger side. therefore i am screwed.

i'm thinking my passenger side is just frozen? since it has been raining/freezing the last few days. gonna try again later to see if it would open.

if i cant get the door open. any clue as to what i can do to get inside the car? trunk still opens.

thanks, ricky.

if its frozen and as a last resort pour hot water down the window seal around the lock.... but then make sure to drive it for awhile, so the water will evaporate.

this sounds stupid but, turn the key the other way...no joke, if I put mine in and it doesn't turn I flip it and the it does, guess one side is more worn

e30's with winter package have heated door looks at the driver side like the one i have for sale around the look is a heating coil what is conected to the micro switch so hold the switch in there and try to turn after 5 sec. the key will work fine

same happen 5min ago as some ppl. looked at my car and they wanted to see the inside

i love heated looks

IIRC all Canadian e30's have heated locks, since they all came with the winter package. Whether or not it works is another question. Another easy solution is to keep the locks well lubricated with silicone spray, displaces moisture so they don't freeze up. I haven't sprayed my beater in a while and it was stiff this morning, time to bust out the spray!
