Arrow Project - Save E36 BMW 325IS! aka Crispy!

Well here is my project over the past week... It's an E36 that I wanted from a buddy of mine before I ever even had a BMW.. Unfortunately for him a gas leak and an instance of his remote start sent the car into a ball of flames..

Unfortunately the fire department pried the hood open using a crow bar even tho the hood was popped.. they just wouldn't use the latch release.. The front bumper was actually pulled off and unharmed from the blaze!!

Here is the BAD BAD PIC!

The plastic M50 intake was once there...

Engine out and starting to look a little bit better! That firewall padding works wonders!!!

So after close examination everything structural was fine.. just some paint bubbled and melted plastic clumps everywhere! The DME area was untouched.. The master cylinder was melted and the top of the fuse box as well.. So everything came out to ensure proper replacement of all damaged parts... The car was AUTO... so well.. perfect time for a 5 speed swap!

Engine bay in primer..

Engine bay with a fresh coat of Alpine White:

Some minor work to the one fender and touch up to the other due to paint bubbling..

Trim was peeling and looking nasty.. so it's ready for some paint..

So I acquired the car last Wednesday evening and worked on it in my spare time after work.. so far I have 11 hours invested into it.. Yesterday I went to pick up my old drivetrain from my first e36 (he is upgrading to an S52)... So I have waiting to install this week..

M50 Vanos with Lightweight flywheel, Race clutch, Conforti chipped DME, UUC pulleys, CAI, A/C delete, Getrag trans with UUC shifter.. Since the car was Auto i will have the pep of the 3:91 to boot..

The car currently has:

-Full ACS body kit
-ACS wing
-ACS Catback
-ACS doorsills.
-I have a set of ACS Type III's that will be going on the car
-Almost new Brembo x-drilled rottors and hawk pads

Parts waiting for install:
-clear corners
-ACS pedals
-ACS badge
-ACS floormats
-///M mirrors

... Car should be driving by the end of the week and will update you guys with more pics and progress as the week goes on!

You need to clear the background of your photos so I can stop asking whats in the back.

Nice progress for 11 hours.

No Pics today.. but I have the motor mounts in, Steering rack installed, charcoal canister, windshield washer bottle and got about 1/2 through installing the new fuse box (huge job!).. Hopefully I can have that part done tonight if i don't run into any problems..
