from what I've heard, quick fun and fast. I checked one out the Budd's BMW and it was surprisingly roomy in the back for the size of the car. The truck is not meant for camping, or several 24's for that matter. Why does you wife want a 135?? 128 should be plenty, she has no need for the added power. It's a waste of money in my opinion.

I have a 135i and i love it. the 128i is quick too but its a world of difference between the 2. I work at BMW in sales and have driven all the cars and I can honestly say that other than the "m" cars I would chose the the 135i for sure. The suspension has been tuned by the "m"division so it handles amazing and not to metion its fast as hell.

The 1 series will never catch on.. even though cheaper than the 3 series, most people will just buy the 3 series..
I dont know why BMW ever did this....

LIGHT?! ...dont believe in what BMW tells you...small and quick maybe...definitely NOT light and NOT cheap neither
curb weight
135 - 1530 kg
128 - 1475 kg
328 coupe - 1520 kg
WRX STI - 1530 kg - and way cheaper
even an 2009 accord sedan is only 1468 kg!!!
1 series are porks

Fast. Fast. Fast.
Wife has the 135. I drive it a lot now, since she takes transit. I have a 128 cab in storage which is fun in the sun, but not nearly as nimble. The 540 is the daily driver, but every time I get in the 135, it's guaranteed smile on the face.
1addicts.com is where you should go for more info.

135i bimmers
both my wife and I drove the 135i cab (she liked it!!!) - it went better than my 98M3 (da!) and got me juiced
But -they aren't cheap!! (almost $50k 2008 demo) SOOOO..........
we did a deal on a 325cab with low Ks instead of leasing a new one - you know the ecomony these days!
and that's a wrap (a cabrio for the 3rd time - am I stupid or do I just enjoy pissing money away?)

the ONE
i own a 08 135i coupe and its by far the best bimmer out there for its price, and performence. why buy a 3 series if the 1 can perform better and its cheaper. But the con is the winter, the car really like to slip out from the rear even with winter tires, also its not a family car, the 4 seats really is more like a 3 seater other then that its the best bang for you buck man, not being said the car its a tunners dream, with just chips, intake, and exhaust, the 135can push up to 395bhp and over 400 touqe, 1/4 mile could be 11 secs, thats numbers worth 50k.

135 twin is super fast; bmw tech friend pdi'd it. But he did say this. For a few bucks more you're better off getting a 335. Getting a whole lot more car for just a bit more $$$$. it also has plastic fenders. to lighten the front end. The tech. that goes into the new bmw's is astronomical. they are practically tuned down race cars and cost a bunch less then a porsche' :-)

i test drove one two weeks ago. Super super quick. No space at all really for cargo, people, anything. Nice interior. WAY overpriced, and imo, it still looks ugly.

I bought one and I love it, bought it used for a good deal. I don't need extra space for passengers, so paying $5K+ more for a 335i with less options and more KM's and a year less of warranty was a bad option for me. I came from 2 M Coupes and a supercharged M3 so I like the nimbleness of it. Looks wise, I am the first to admit that it is not as handsome as a 335i or M3, but it is a great combination of a drivers car, and my daily driver!
