Did I say anything about a 318 vs. a 328? No.

318s and 328s are the same chassis(Sorry, VERY Similar, don't want to just jump to another conclusion), so in this case it's not a lighter car.

Again, I said "Usually" which means not in all cases.

To your corolla vs. echo comparison, take a good, fast toyota motor.

Drop it in your corolla, take it down the track. Now take the same motor and slap it into your echo. Take it down the track.

Which one is faster? The lighter one.(echo)

I guess my generalization is just as rash as yours.

These arguments are all grossly over-simplified, and quite useless, sorry lads.

Again, Im no expert but it seems that performance parts are way easier to come by for a 328 or m3 vs a 318.
Sleepers definetly are appealing, but handsdown more work/money/time is required. Whats all that worth to you?

As to your comment "slow cars are usually lighter", this makes no sence. A Toyota Echo is slower and lighter than a corolla, does this mean your going to mod the Echo because its lighter? I think the smart thing to do is choose a vehicle that shows the most potential that suits your likes and budget.

Lets be serious here. With 10psi on a stock internal e36 318, how fast do you really expect it to go? Id be shocked if it could hang with a 328 without blowing up.

To each there own.
why bash the guy not everyone wants to do motor swaps some peeps just like working with what they have right....
