From what I understand, that engine can be had cheap at salvage yards.
Personally, I'd rather go through the hassle of an LS1 swap.

Yeah, the V12 is awesome for the cool/rare factor... but the near impossibility of finding a manual trans to mate it with makes the swap less appealing.
Also, having to pull the engine to change spark plugs isn't something I'd want to deal with.
I guess it depends on what you were swapping it into... a V12 E34 would be kind of cool, and probably not as tough as an E30 (I think the E34 engine bay is pretty similar to the E32).

Unmatched is right. This turbo thing is so.. last month. And the v12 is just like two M20s, so it's like I have half an engine for parts already.

lol... well, it's definitely been done before. There are a few pics floating around of V12 E30s, and there's at least one thread on R3V of a guy who is working on a swap. He isn't very far in though.
Also, for interest... this article should be mandatory reading for anyone looking at an M70 for swap: http://bmwe32.masscom.net/sean750/en...0rebuild_1.htm
Long but plenty of good pictures and details.

The ad says what you see is what you get. The windows are so dark you can't see the interior. Unless he's changed the ad since it went up.
Just seems to stereotypical cocky BMW owner...even though I havent' actually met anyone like that.

Just hang out at Ottos for a few minutes, you'll meet them all.

He must be really cocky if he thinks that he's going to get that price -- the ones on trader.ca are considerbly cheaper.

Dirt cheap E30, actually doesn't look too terrible for $500 (from what you can see in the pics anyway).
4-door and auto, but e-test exempt!

Nice wheel but I'm not a huge fan of wood trim.
Plus... if you're going to spend $175, save a bit longer and get an M-tech II
