The reason the car is so cheap is because it comes all pixalated just like in the picture.

I replied asking for pics and a location. I'm gonna keep it going for as long as I can.

Doesn't Trader charge to put up ads? interesting stuff...

Yeah, Trader charges for ads. I am sure this is a scam, however. If it seems to good to be true, it usually is.

If I'm wrong, and you buy it, I'll give you $5300 for it

Crap, now what...

*edit* a google search on the VIN shows it being listed all over the place. Fun!

Listed here as being light blue-->http://www.onestopmotors.com/ad_deta...px?ad_id=20684

Its on ebay, which means the VIN is posted. The ebay ad is likely real, the rest are for sure fake. The VIN on ebay is a stupid, stupid idea. But I can't think of any good alternatives, lol.

Oooh, here's the response...

Quote:
Hi,
The car is located right now in Edmonton(we just moved here because of my new job),the thing is i had 2 guys promise me to buy it and pick-it up : one didn't show up and the other called saying he lost the money, so i can't afford to take days off my work for that, that is why i gave to a shipping company that will ship it to the next owner(on my cost), it is sealed in container, so i'm trying to sell it online,if i don't get lucky in about a week you can come pick it up.You will have 5 days from the time you receive to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not, if by any reason, you will not be satisfied, you will return the car to shipping company with no expense. It has never been repainted, that`s the colour of my car.
Please reply with your complete name and shipping address in your next email and let me know if you are interested in knowing more details about this purchase so that I can open a transaction at eBay and to move forward with this deal. After that they will contact you with all necessary information about this transaction(terms, buyer protection, payment instructions,invoice,etc.).
P.S. Please don`t forget to send me your full name and address.
Hmmm....sealed in a container. Right. I gotta think about this one...

Let me guess: it will be shipped if you send the funds to someone who will hold it in escrow until you have the car. The trick is, the funds won't be held in escrow, they'll be held in a wallet, never to be seen again.

VINs are freely available on the Internet from Ebay sellers and the like. I half want to see you take this as far as you can without actually committing to anything.

I want to keep going but I'm not sure where to go from here...now they want my address. Yeah, I don't think so. I'm half tempted to just say but it IS on Ebay yet that seems too easy.

Try and scam the scammer. Tell them that you would like to buy the car, but in order to transfer the funds you will need some money to be able to transfer the cash. Get them to send you some, like $50 or something.

To which he would reply

"Oh just take $50 off of what you are sending me to use to transfer it"

Plus

Then you are liable for Conspiracy to commit internet fraud, Internet fraud, Fraud under $5000 and mischief.

Panerai, you're a party pooper.

So I asked if there were any dead pixels and what the maintenance has been on it and to please send better pictures. so, they sent the same pics that are on Ebay...sigh. I want to trap the guy in a lie or something but I don't want to send my name and address to this guy.

I have a bunch of buddies in Edmonton. Tell them you have a friend in Edmonton in the shipping business that'll ship it deadhead for you for free, but it can't be in a container. Tell them you need full contact info, and the location of the container, and your "agent" (one of my buddies) will meet them, first to inspect the car (tell them you want to get visual confirmation that it isn't a wreck) and then to pay them cash.

If it seems real after that, I'll contact someone to check it out for you.

I bet you either hear nothing or some lame excuses.
