I had never heard of this edition of M3. There's another, even more rare that's the same but RHD, only 25 made. These had leather center consoles. That is a mod I must do; what a beautiful thing that would be.

this is the rare m3 with the even more rare m42 motor sporting ITB's ... lot's of talk on clubM42 about these... very sick setup!! S42 would have been better though  300hp!

Oh I thought these motors were just like the m42 but more powerfull and with ITBs
Like the S42 but made in the e30 times ??

Nope, nothing like the M42 other than they are 4 cyl. Contrary to another thread on here (which involved a huge arguement over 4cyl vs 6cyl, etc) the m42 has a different bore, stroke, block, piston, crank, tb, electronic and more, and aren't even based on the same block. They're nothing alike.
The s14 is based on the m10 block, highly modified (to the point of being completely different).
The S42 is pretty much a phantom engine. It was only made for the German touring car championship and is pretty much never seen. There are hardly even pictures of it, let alone any on the street. Its a 300hp 2.0 liter that reportedly (IIRC) requires a tear down / rebuild every 24 hours of running, ie, a race motor.
