So I saw... my first chinese car barreling down the qew...

What a piece of crap, it was going 120, it had 14" indented rims, the bodywork looked all wobbly like fibreglass, the paint finish looked like spray paint. Anyone care to chime in what this monstrosity of unsafe rusted steel is doing here?

mmmhmmm. You can even see the shody paint in the pic. Imagine it in real life, coming to a stop behind you, on its antiquated suspension ( it had a live axel with shocks on the inside of the leafsprings) and 14" rims. No thanks.

Jullian, i am not even shitting you! i wish i had a cameraphone. It had the new white dealer plate on it

Monday , around 5:40 down the qew around miss. rd and it got off on erin mills , went south.

edit: it was the "gx 6" model. more pics of this monstrocity.

I wouldn t be so against it if i knew the chinese are not going to cut corners in quality, safety and durability. I work in the manufacturing industry, I know what happens in china, and because of this , I will never set foot into a chinese car, until they change their work and product ethics.

You've got to be ****ing kidding me.

Yeah preach on while you wear clothes/fabrics/textiles made in china. Eat food that comes from china or is processed using chinese chemicals. Live in your house surrounded by chinese electronics, furniture, carpets, etc.

also, http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=125371

SHANGHAI, China BMW has announced that it will boost component purchases in China this year, in part to offset soaring costs of raw materials. The German automaker also plans to expand its Chinese dealer network and expand its product portfolio here.

BMW, which is partnered in China with Brilliance Automotive, said it plans to increase spending on parts from 150 Chinese suppliers to $625 million in 2008, compared with $500 million last year.

The company also is expanding its retail network in China from 90 to 120 dealers by year's end. Next month, BMW will begin importing the 1 Series as part of a long-range plan to broaden its product mix.

don't be an idiot.

sorry, actually, i don't. Maybe you do. As for china, the lack of social care, ( yes this means workers in the factories get treated fairly and in decency) AND corner cutting in health leads me to avoid as much Chinese product as possible. Thats my choice. I don t drive a new "Chinese partnered bmw", my macs and ipod were still made in the US, i do read labels and if it says made in china, I don t buy it. You can chose and do what you want, so can I.

Funny thing is size has nothing to do with safety in accidents and price sometimes doesn't play a role either ...

How much was Ford F150 again?

Sometimes even though you pay more, and you get it from a reputable company doesn't necessarily guarantee you safety! I wonder what this Chinese Shit-UV would 'accomplish' in a crash test!?!?!
