yes, your right nzer, i forgot that very important step. delete the partition and re-create it, then proceed with step 3 (the 2nd step 3)
Hey, you should know better!

well, push F2 or delete to enter your bios.Your looking for boot order, It will either be under boot options or in the award bioses its the second option down. Change the boot order so that ATAPI CD rom is first boot device. Put in your Windows XP disk. The installer will load. You will see a few partitions, push d (i think, it will say) to remove them and L to confirm you want to delete it. Then push enter on the free space and it will automagically create a new partition and ask you what you want to format it as, either NTFS or FAT32. Either is good, if you need to encrypt your data choose NTFS. The rest of the XP install is pretty straight forward.

if you got monkey a or b which used to be called the empire virus you have to fdisk the hard drive. to do so just use a simple windows xp cd set the bios to boot from the cd which most of pc do now then just follow the instruction it will delete and recreate partition and format as well then everything else just click next.

btw if u have the win XP copy of kazaa and u burned it on a disk, you can not boot from that cd. because that cracked version is only and upgrade and a beta version as well and not the whole bootable disk.

u have to have a win98 boot disk i guess and format the hard drive. then install win98 or something else and then use the win XP upgrade disk to upgrade to win XP .

that's what i read somewhere on the net.
