330i lowering question...

Hello All,

I am running a stock suspension on my 02 330i. I don't want to lower the car too much as I commute to work everyday, and the car will take a beating on the highway in the winter. If I run "M" springs on the car from a 330i "M package" sedan, will there be a noticable difference??????? I am planning on putting on bigger wheels in the spring and don't want the huge gap in the front end!

If you have pics please post the springs on your car so that I can take a look...

Muchly appreciated...

it will only be 0.5-1" of a drop. but thats all the stock(non-sport) shocks can handle so you're safe

As long as the front is a touch lower than the rear...

Look into the Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs. I had them on my 330i, one of the best mods ever. Total drop was like 0.75 inches in the back and 1.50 inches in the front. But I previously had sport suspension, so I'm not sure if the drop will be the same.

The ride looked and felt great after. I ran in through winter at that height and I never got stuck, I actually drove in some pretty terrible conditions with no problem.

I also think the springs are designed to be compatible with the stock shocks.

I'm in Australia currently and don't have pics of my old ride, but there could be pics of my old 330i lying around the forum somewhere.

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks...I did take a look at that kit and may purchase it...so you were ok in the winter time then! I commute on the highway everyday to work and I don't want to rip off my front bumper...

For the most part I was okay. Clearance was decent enough, if you aren't going "dorifto" at night during heavy snow falls you should be fine. I scratched it up a bit over the winter but I drove it pretty hard and didn't shy away from really shitty conditions. Maybe get some 3M clear protective tape for the lower part of your bumper and you're good.
