I smell scam.

There is a mint 850 for $5000 on autotrader.
I emailed the guy and this is what he came back with

Hey there,

Thank you for your interest in purchasing my car. The car looks and works like new and it will come with all the original manuals. It was never involved in any accidents and has a clear title. I must inform you that I am from Calgary, AB and the car is also here. The price of $5,000.00 includes all the shipping costs and insurance, so you won't have to pay any extra charges. If you are interested we can use a third party escrow broker to secure the transaction and to handle this whole process for us. Using a reputable E-Commerce third party escrow company will secure the transaction and you will receive the car before I'll get paid and of course I'm also covered because the funds will be kept safety in the escrow account. This is the best way for me even if I'll have to pay some extra money for their services. I'll cover the broker's fee and like I've explained, the shipping will be free.

More details of the car:
Automatic Sunroof Leather seats Cassette player CD player
Anti-lock brakes Driver airbag Air conditioning Cruise control
Power locks Power windows Power seats
Vehicle identification number (VIN): WBAEG21000CB01629

Please get back to me if you are interested
Brian

Unless the escrow service is paypal, or something selected by yourself, it is a scam.

I had WAY too many people try this on me when I used to sell on eBay years ago. They somehow already have the account, and just need to use it.

the links that boots posted, one of them said the buyer didn't have the money.......
don't know about the other one. His feedback is 100% positive.
What a sick ****ing car man, shit. I would pick this up in a heartbeat.

I'll ask him more about it. How would paypal work? I really don't know much about buying shit online.

c'mon guys.... you think you'd be wise to these scams since they've been around so long now.. have you never used craigslist? At the top of every page it specifically warns about these types of scams in peticular. It seems every week someone is asking about these deals that seem too good to be true... if it seems it... it ALWAYS is.

Tell him you'll meet him and calgary and you'll get a response such as he is actually overseas for work blah blah.. it's not even worth my time to explain.... or yours for that matter.. too bad cause it is a nice car..

The show starts when you tell him you got a dude in Calgary to pick her up.

have some fun with the guy...and tell him to meet you in person. pick a place that's public with a web cam in the area - maybe you'll get this losers picture online if the timing is right.

but of course they are overseas...but as coincidence would have it you are also in the same city they are in. this is better than late night infomercials.

Even better tell him that you'll send him a cheque for a little bit more than the value.. but he can keep 20% of the extra as long as he wires you back the rest.

(This is the other scam you'll encounter when trying to sell a vehicle..)
