BMW E30 Cabrio V8 (Performance BMW Nov 2010 ; Anssi Ranki photography)

Hiya!
Thought Iíll make a new thread of the cabrio as it was featured in Performance BMW (Nov 2010 issue) and the pictures can be now posted on the internet.

The pictures were taken by Anssi Ranki and me helping him during two nights in July. None of the pictures is photoshopped, believe it or not.

For example this pic was shot at around 3am (quite bright in the nights of Finland in summer time):

I bought the cabrio as a bone-stock, black E30 325 cabrio 1987 pre-facelift model in Easter 2005 and started modifying it (sold the old engine within a week of buying the car). The only stock parts in the cabrio are the side windows, fuse box and heater control panel so pretty much everything has been changed / modified (all done myself & the help of friends, expect the paintjob and interior retrim). This summer I drove around 6000km with the cabrio as it is my daily summer car Ė not a trailer queen!
The full spec list and project info can be found here.

And then the pictures... (few more can be found at www.m5time.com)

Side view;

Top view;

Front view;

Another front view with the rocks;

The interior;

The engine bay;

And hereís the cover of the mag;

Thanks for watching, all comments are welcome!

very clean,very nice indeed..but v8's were dropped in those already back in the late 90's.
I use to supply parts to a shop that had a race car with a 540 drive line in it.

And also on road cars in the '90s. So what?

any serious photographer i know post processes...

dont confuse silly photoshop fun for real post processing... i can tell just by looking at them.

and the lens flare in that one pic give it away too. doesnt mean his pics arent any good..hardly at all. you cant make a crappy photo look good with photoshop.

Holy ****. That is beautiful... It really is...

As far as the P.P goes... I dunno.. My buddy used to shoot in RAW to P.P but after getting his job and learning some tricks he says he shoots in JPG and all the filters etc is done before hand along with camera settings... Also if you shrink an image enough it hides a lot of things..

Maybe he's talking about the sky?... There's no way those photos would look as crisp if they were posted in the O.G size too...

Regardless, the car is amazing, the bay is neat and cleaner then my E46 or my GTI. I really do like the bay the most... And of course the wheels.. :p

My ONLY 0.02 cents is the caps on the rims... They would look better IMHO with 1/4 height or flat caps... Otherwise I think it's gorgeous!
