Save yourself the hassle, and just pick up a SC... you'll have the extra power you want, and actually end up saving cash... plus, you already know the service history of your current ride, so you should get no unexpected surprises.
+1, your car pretty much is close to an m3 looks wise, performance isn't to far off either.

Thanks for the compliments fellas. I appreciate it.

I know my asking price is a wee high. Also, I realize I may be better of parting out all the mods and then selling it as stock. The market is pretty bad for E46s as it is, let alone E36s! I may end up going FI over the winter - not sure yet. If I can find a buyer for my car then I will part and sell it, this is only a FEELER afterall

Another thing to keep in mind is that your insurance premiums will almost certainly rise. And just to clarify what I said... I, personally, think the car is worth the 13k (I paid 16k for my 323is 3 years ago) but you have a really limited enthusiast market to sell to. Also, parting out the car can really add up in time/labour costs. You'll guaranteed lose a lot of $$$ on the deals. You could also look at swapping in an S52, as their price has really come down lately...

Problem is that there's so much more that makes an M3 an M3 right? It's not just bodykit, suspension, engine. Almost everything is different...Subframes, mounts, many interior pieces, whole suspension even down to the bushings, etc etc.

FI or Nothing. The part out option will not get you anywhere. Not only that you may lose on the deals, but You will lose on selling the car. We had 3 mint 328is that hardly got sold.(the silver auto 328is was so so ) Just the red one sold from kitchener and for 6K and change. All of them were nice as they get. Keep in mind , they were all Canadian cars. YOur cars looks as cluster is in miles. They will look for anything not to pay the top dollars.

Went to see the car its nice dont get me wrong but it a 96 with 178000 kms granted.

The retail value (black book) prob at the most 7000 at best. I cant imagine the rest $6500 would be fair to ask for the included mods.

I'm thinkin twice just a little!

What do you all think is a fair price for all the mods and the car itself is worth buyin for?

keep in mind not to mention there is a dinan exhaust and the head lights are from an e46 hid, projectors etc.
