Electrical problem? Signal bulb.

Hi,
So my front passenger side signal bulb seemed to be out. Was getting the warning light on the dash (entire car icon and a red warning light), also when I signalled to turn right it would be really fast.

Sounds simple enough. Was like this for about a week. Then one morning it had magically fixed itself and was working again.

A week later it broke again, bulb out. So I went and bought a new one and installed it (without touching the glass part of bulb). Checked what connections I could in that area and all seemed fine.

Turned on signal and all was working. Job done I thought.

I went out this morning, 3 days after bulb change and it's out again. I know there's nothing wrong with the bulb, in fact I couldn't see anything wrong with the old bulb either.

It's only the front passenger signal light.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks.

You need the socket, this is a very common failure on E46.

Yup that should be the one depending on the type of lens you have (orange or white).

Good price the dealer list is about $14.00.

63 13 8 380 211, Turn Signal Bulb Socket Orange Lens
63 13 6 943 122, Right Turn Signal Bulb Socket White Lens

Thanks Mark, much appreciated.

I assume this would be a simple install for a DIY?

Thanks again MANDD.

With your information I picked up the part this morning and installed it in about a minute.
Everything works great.
