I personally not feeling that rear end or very different rims on that GTR!
Even Mercedes started doing the BS series... BMW is weak for not doing anything special with their M brand! I bet they would sell 200 to 300 CSL cars like M3 or M6!

yeah but you have to realize that BMW built a few of these back in 2001 just so they could compete in the ALMS with their V8 powered m3. They sold them for a quater mill each. So they are super rare, pretty much a detuned race car made street legal
... they were so good that the guy in need for speed most wanted had one lol

As will the Corvette ZR-1 (currently holds the fastest production car at Nurburgring. (as per Toronto Star this past Saturday).
I love how an american production car's got the top spot there (for now) !!

The price of a CSL will be at least triple the price of a M3 and double of a M6. The CSL won't exactly sell like a M3 or M6 as a result as it's not really affordable.

Same here.
When I take my Mazda 3 in for service, they make me want to get rid of it and get a 1 series. Either their service really inhales, or BMW's spoiled me.

Even funnier is that the ZR1 time was set by an engineer (not a race driver), with an automatic car. The times will only fall once pro drivers get some time in them.
V-Spec will probably beat the ZR1 once the final times are set though. But then apparently Acura wants the title with the new NSX...

Doesn't the ACR run on Pilot Sport Cups? That's at least 4 seconds compared to the street tires on the ZR-1.
Same reason I feel that CSL times are useless.

All I can say is that I can't wait to see what the new M3 ALMS car will do next year GT2 class will be amazing to watch with BMW Porsche and Ferrari. The GTR would fall into the GT1 class probably if nissan build an ALMS car.

Too many new "super cars" for somewhat affordable pricing now, to make the CSL worth it.
When the GTR is running the times its doing for sub 100k, it will be tough for competitors to beat it.

Well, if they come stock, than it's stock, can't really argue with that.

The Viper ACR is not a production car. The ZR1 set the production car record.
