318iS or 325iX?
Hey all,
I was posting on bimmerforums for a while. Love the site and the people were great. I found about this site from there, and, as I'm from Canada, this is probably the best bet.
Anyways, I have a question for you all. Right now, I have a 4-door 1989 BMW 325iX. Great vehicle in excellent condition. Only has 154000 km's.
Then in my area (Kelowna, BC) I notice a mint 1991 318iS (2-door) for $7500.00 The car is red with mint black leather interior. It has never seen the snow and has only 142000 km's. I would say the vehicle is in a tad better condition than my iX. The question I have for you guys is this: Sell the iX and pick up the 318, or keep the iX? I am torn and would appreciate some feedback.
Thanks a lot.

if you're looking for an all around fun car you'll drive YEAR ROUND grab the IX.
Keep in mind, modding is a little tougher with that drivetrain.
If you're looking for a summer only car- snag the 318 and swap a M5X / S5X in it.
thats what I'd do anyhow...

wilkommen friend!
tough call...
I would personally sell the 325ix (i have one) and go for the 318is - much lighter car, better handling. although it depends really how much snow you come in contact with - as u know u can't beat awd in the white stuff, and the ixs feel like little tanks
post pics of ur baby, will make it easier for us to vote on this important matter

Dude, I saw your video of you driving your iX in the rain...that was just sick man. Pretty jealous. What kind of turbo setup did you have? Do you have any other mods? I would love to see some pictures if you have some

Here are some pics of my baby...these are a tad old, before my car was washed, waxed and with a few things changed (under the hood: plugs, filters, etc.)
The paint is not bad, but looking to get her painted in the future, that is, if I don't sell her... There is virtually no rust on the body.
The fog light covers need to be replaced...overall though, it is in excellent condition...want that paint job.

Thanks for all the posts so far, guys. Seems the iX is the popular choice. By the way, how is the mod potential of the m20? Does the lack of DOHC restrict it a bit? Seems like it isn't too bad from some of the threads I have been reading here...then, of course, there is furyriders turbo iX
