Would like to know what you guys also with a 330 what you would recommend. I swapped the cold air K&N intake from my old car..
Dont notice any difference.. but i didn't notice any in my 323 either
What upgrades are worth the money..
Which upgrade will be the more noticable
What to stay away from..
Willing to spend the money if its a good quality upgrade

bolt ons won't really give you any noticible power. You could chip it with an intake and full exhaust, but the power increase is negligible.
The only way to get a real increase in power is to go forced induction. Supercharger/Turbo.
The price for a descent supercharger is around $5000, which isn't bad considering the power increase.

you'd have to ask our local sponsors for that.

If you have more than 60,000 KM I would change the VANOS seals. I did mine (M54 in 530) last month. The power under 3,000 RPM is much greater and the throttle response is now very crisp. The best $70 you can spend...

I was actually thinking about this also..
Did you do it yourself, or get it done at a shop

I did it. The instructions on the site are very good. I can't tell you how long it took, as I also replaced the thermostat, water pump, rad, lower control arm bushings, and re-greased the idler pulleys at the same time. (All the usual E39 160,000 Km stuff)

Software alone can make a decent difference, especially if you don't have $7K or so burning a hole in your pockets.
It's less than 10% of the price of a supercharger, and on a 330, you get about 10% of the increase in ponies that the sc gives you.

It's closer to Dinan's last stage. I think that is stage 3. And it's much cheaper also. Look for my sale ending Aug. 15 in this thread:

So far the interest level has been very low, a few PM's but only one or two sales may happen later this week. So you can still qualify for the early bird discount.
