dumb question...but does this guy hit all five gears
I was checking out this video on aatuning.com and I couldn't tell if this 3.0L 325i went through all five gears. It is the stutter after his tires start peeling out.....did he shift, or was the sound from his tires finally catching. I think he shifted cause I've never done 115mph in fourth gear.
anyways the question is did he only use four gears, or all five?

IT went through all 5 gears believe it or not. I heard all of the sequences!
First gear finished 4 seconds into the video and shifted into 2nd. Then by the end of 5 seconds into the video he shifted into 3rd. Shifted into 4th gear 7 seconds into the video.
Then shifted into 5th 11 seconds into the video.
That's M3Turboca by the way!
If that's the run he talked to me about, those were on worn out Bridgestone Re730 tires if I can remember.
I met him in person and his car is such a darn sleeper. That car really pulls and I believe it's the Stage I of the AA kit.
Can't wait till spring

Yep that's his car, PURE sleeper!!!
325 converted to 95 m3. All m3 parts are on that car.
I saw that car go, pretty impressive and he wasn't even pushing it.
P.S. Yes he went through all five gears, you can easily count them
M3 redlines at about 118mph in 4th gear

He's running approx. 12psi the last time I met him.
I think it's just a LITTLE over 400HP, but even in 5th gear at 3300rpm, once he taps on the gas, you can actually feel the torque pushing your body back into the seats.

I don't really want to scrap my current set up. I'm just hoping to improve on it. The reason the RMS system has more HP then mine is the aftercooler allows for higher boost.

Hmm, I haven't seen anyone using a front mounted intercooler on vortech blowers so far.
For sure they do on the AA Rotex blowers.
Why not get the aftercooler and water injection kit for your current setup. It'll definitely help your car run more consistant and lowers the chance of denotation.
You could also get a LTW flywheel which would help as well for acceleration.

Keep in mind that 12seconds may be doable for you. It's not just the power, but you're setup.
Running too low profile of tires will affect your traction for starts as does the amount of PSI you're running in your tires. If memory servers me right, usually you want to run more psi up front and less in the rear.
There is another guy on another forum, who has a Z3 3.0L (same engine as 330i) with a RMS superchager w/aftercooler running about 9psi. He can do a 1/4mile in 11.71 seconds. He pretty much knows the proper dragging technique and is pretty experienced.

Thanx for all your help with the info. Water injection is kinda costly and complex, the aftercooler is more suitable for my set up but so far I can't seem to find one without paying $1500.
To top it all off my insuance company just called me to tell me that they were discontiueing my insurance because of the charger. They want some sort of dyno test so I can prove the charger isn't putting out alot of HP

superM3...vortech has an aftercooling system made for their blowers, check it out...$1500 is a good price if its CDN, is that with install? dont cheap out with stuff liek this man...this can determine your engine staying together, or the engine being blown under higher boost!
