Question Older Metal Bumpers to Plastic Bumpers Conversion ??

Hi all,

I am fresh over here, I have just bought a 1986 325e and I have no idea how stuff works out. I am so stupid when it comes to these stuff to the point I bought the 1988 Smoked tail lights just to know that they won't fit.

Anyways, I hate the looks of the older metal bumpers, I have looked everywhere in order to find out if it is possible to change these to plastic bumpers, but no one has a clue !

I hope you guys would be able to help

Many Thanks In Advance

no, aside from the shortening part it should be pretty easy.

Just make sure you get all the right parts. Bumper shocks, bolts, bumper side mounting brackets, etc.

Hey thanks they did turned out nice. I went to automotive warehouse in niagara on the lake and got a can of vht night shades. You need to prep the tail lights buy washing any surface contaminates i used a very fine grit to scuff the tails i think it was 3000grit. then i sprayed them "light coats" i did 2 of those then i let it sit overnight and put A coat of clear on it. it looks easy but it's tricky.
