Rear side window removal

My rear side window of a 2 door E30 seems to be out of alignment, low at the back portion of the window. I can see too much of the seal.I am trying to find a leak and think this may be the cause. Tried to get at the hinged part of the window but failed.
Can the window be aligned and how. Couldn't find any links for this problem
