About 318i's and 325i's...

Well the thing is, I'm focusing on 318i's and a lot of people keep telling me that it's slow, even though I plan on staying away from the automatic transmission. The main factor is the fuel economy though. On epinions a 318i gets 22/30 mpg and a 325i gets 19/28. Is there a big difference between them (I'm speaking to somone who drove both). My van makes 18/25 mpg and it's pretty steep I think.. cause I think I'll have to pay for fuel.. I think 325i's are more expensive too, not sure.

I also know that the 318i has 138 hp and the 325i has 189.. a pretty big jump I think, but I might be able to chip it (the 318i) can some hp be gained??..

Remember, I don't want a sports car, I need a daily driver that is good on fuel but I don't want sluggish performance...help!

Ah 325e got tons of low torque... in city driving it's impressive.. and a JIm C chip offer better performance ( but you have to put premium Gaz in the car.. so $$$)
and it got good MPG ( ok mine suck gaz really much i think my o2 sensor is dead)
and the car got the same handling as a 325i. but 318i got better handling! his lightweight car!

dont know why fuel economy is such a big part of your decision man, like if you have the moeny for a 325 go for it, mine blows gas like an animal, but i dont mind, like its not a HUGE expense for gas if you drive it everyday to school and maybe to work 3 times a week..but if you cant afford the gas go with the 318ti i guess

whats more important to you. economy or speed? seemes to me like u can pick up a lot of 318s cheap and there easy to find. but I would go with the 325, its mileage is only a couple MPGs less and has the good all around power of a 6.

i find my 325i is pretty good on gas. I'm not sure of the actual mpg, but i'd say a full talk lasts me about 800 km's more or less.

or u should get the e28, 528e thats in the Trader right know. Great condition, no rust, and only 3G's. I paid more and mine had/has rust, only now i got the front fenders so i can chage them. True, mine was rebild has 2 sets of rims, and its 3.3L, but still thats a good price. And lennon, no offence bro, its non of my business, but 8G's is too much to be aksing for you car. thats like me asking 5G's for my car...Dont take this the wrong way, im just trying to help you sell her.

Let me ask you a question, who said that I would sell it to a maxbimmer member for that price, no one, thats right, that was you assuming that I would. I've never told ANYONE on the board what price I would sell it to them for, so don't go assuming things you have no idea about, and another question, look at the condition of your car, and then look at the condition of mine, you can't even compare the 2. For any member I am going to sell the car to them for only what I owe left on it. (Which is more then what your car is worth, if its 5gs) I owe more then that on it. So yes, your right, it is NONE of your business, and next time, if you don't know about what your posting about, just ask first, or post nothing at all. I don't really see how you were "TRYING" to help me sell her.
