Nippon E34 M5

Tried to get creative here although the CN tower looks like it's going through my roof. I'll have to try them again. Watch out for broken beer bottles if you go down there. Cheers!

Beautiful car and nice pics! I don't know much about the E34 M5's...are there any differences with the japanese model?

Hi. Thanks! Well, from what I understand, the car is basically a euro model with minor changes for export to Japan. So it would have the euro cat on it. This is how I got it....the speedo is in Km, it has some options which would be rare here...it has full leather( console and glove box etc... all leather), also has the rear power sun shade and manual side shades, and heated front and rear seats as well as dual climate heater and A/C. It already had the clear marker lenses and side turn signal lights. I'm not sure if these were added by the previous owner or are stock? The throwing stars are also from a later model. As well, the radio had to be changed...I only got one crappy channel here (different frequencies).

If anyone else can shed more light on differences that would be great.

The most important reason I got it from Japan are #1. Well maintained. #2. Good price. #3. Only has 100K - documented.

Would that make it a 3.8 if it came from Europe? That would be sweet if it was....

Looks really good! I love E34s.

Just FYI.... all your throwing stars are on backwards.

Wow..I didn't even think to look if they were on right. I think they were before....maybe the guys who safetied it...messed them up... I'll fix that ASAP thanks.

Unfortunately it's only the 3.6. Still wicked fast though. I read something about the 3.8 coming out in late 91 in Europe. My car production date is at the beginning of the year.

Anyone have suggestions on an appraiser? Insurance co. just advised me I have to do it because the VIN isn't recognized here or something like that.

Most BMW's/Merc's made for Japan were left hand drive. Infact, I don't recall seeing a RHD for sale from there, ever.

Thanks for the compliments. Yes, it has the rear electric sunshade although its a pain because people always hit the button with there elbow and it goes off. I have to check it out because it sounds like it's getting stuck.

I took the pics down at the "Docks" night club parking lot. I think it's a great spot for pics of the city...I was going to wait a bit longer on the light. I suggest twilight for nice pics.

I brought the M5 over through 360autosports.com . They are located in Edmonton. I had to jump through alot of hoops to get it registered though. If anyone is serious about it I'm happy to advise based on my experiences.

Have a look at the 360 site. They have imported a lot of different BMW's as well as some Super 7's, Porsche and a multitude of Japanese cars.

Any BMW's I have seen on their site are left hand drive.

I'll take some interior shots soon if you like. I have the glove box out and thought I'd change the micro filter while it was out but have had a little trouble finding it.

Once you complete the cabin filter chnageover, I may need to pick your brains.
I was thinking of doing it on mine.
