24V DOHC E30 Touring!

Thats right guys, not just another swap...but into a rare clean chassis. The owner came to us with his beautiful touring, sporting the manual rack (yep, manual) and the other euro-spec only goodies asking to make it something special. So thats exactly what we did. This time, we used an OBD1 M52 for his build along with a full suspension overhaul. It's like driving a brand new E30 touring (with the motor it should have came with). The project is done here..however not for the owner, as it's being sent out to Excellence Autobody for some body work. Keep an eye out for this one guys!

Of course, here's some eye candy for you guys.

The patient waiting for surgery:

Something looks wrong here..

Problem solved:

Nice!

Thats my baby! I have had perma-boner since seeing it on Monday. I can't wait.

I hope you guys gave that weak M20 a good smack down before you scrapped it out! Man I hated that engine.

The total cost was about 6K. I am now sending the car into paint (4.5K) then 2.93 diff, chip for remapping then a complete interior redo over the fall winter. Should be done just in time to store it for the winter.

I am planning a gathering next year of local e30 touring's Are you up for it?

dont put a 2.93diff in there it is no fun anymore at all with a stock m50
i have tryed that on my stationwagon and it is slow as hell in the exceleration, go with the 3.23 diff or so.
when you would have a s50 the 2.93 would be the way to go but even 3.23 is better when you drive big rims like 18 and you still get the tires spinning like crazy

Bye

What size rims did you have? I am rolling on 16's. I will try the 2.93 if it sucks I will pull it and put in the 3.23
